LJCDS is an independent school serving age 3 through Grade 12 on a single campus. Consistently ranked among the best private schools in San Diego and California, LJCDS is committed to inspiring greatness for a better world.
Our extraordinary educators foster in lifelong learners four critical attributes—a work ethic, strong moral character, a commitment to challenge the status quo, and an appreciation that we belong to something greater than ourselves.
With access to resources and mentors in our student-centered learning community, our students become the best version of themselves—intellectually, socially and emotionally.

Early Childhood Center (ECC)
Tiny Torreys (age 3) and junior kindergarten
The foundation for the love of learning begins here. A seed is planted, and our youngest learners start to develop their roots. Creative expression, personal responsibility and the development of personal identity are key goals for the ECC.
Lower School
Kindergarten–Grade 4
We foster each child’s socioemotional growth to lay the foundation for academic success. Academic curricula and character/dignity education are of equal importance. Students are provided with a solid foundation in language arts, math, science, social studies and world language, in addition to a breadth of co-curricular opportunities.
Middle School
Grades 5–8
We cultivate the maturation of our Middle School learners in an ever-changing time in their lives. The Middle School program nurtures the intellectual, ethical, social/emotional and physical development of young scholars during their transition from childhood to adolescence. During this time, we challenge students to develop independent thinking, innovation and leadership.
